Tuesday 4/18 – Scouts Camping need to bring in a fully packed backpack. We will go through the gear, repack, and hike around Matthews in two groups following map and compass coordinates. Afterwards, hikers will conduct food prep.

Troop Camping Gear List Resources
- 64 ounces of water containers minimum. 32 ounce Nalgene's connect to our water filtration pumps.
- Head Lamps
- Trekking poles!! Very valuable even if the cheapo Walmart brand
- Rain poncho
- Two pairs of wool socks. It's a muddy trail
- Beanie and wool or fleece pullover
- Sleeping pad
- Sleeping bag
Troop Gear Provided
- Backpack Stove for each pair of scouts with fuel.
- Backpack food will be provided by the troop.
- We will not need to take tents. We will be camping in remote shelters.
