Matthews Troop 46 Update - Post Backpacking Follow up / May Camping

What a wonderful weekend in Black Mountain, NC. I have just published the Galleries for March Camporee and April Black Mountain in the website gallery. We were in a split trek situation. The high impact trek to the Grey Beard Summit at 6,020ft and low impact trek to the Little Lookout Summit at 3,621ft.

April Participants – A lot of our gear had a chance to get wet. Please make sure you pull everything out of your bag if anything just to let it air out and dry. This prevents mold and mildew from forming. Please don’t forget to bring all troop gear to include our backpack stoves cleaned and ready for the next opportunity for use next Tuesday evening.

  • Both groups reached their Summits
  • Both Treks had the chance to filter stream water
  • Younger scouts earned the Fireman Chit and worked on Advancements

May Trip – Beaver Days Registration Link. All scouts are invited with no limits. Scouts and adults elected into the OA will have the chance to go through their Ordeal. I would like to go through my Brotherhood; therefore, we will need a couple of extra adults during this trip to manage our scouts and activities.

2023 Charlotte FC Scouts Night

Scouts and parents,

Please find information below on this year’s scout discount night for the Charotte Football Club. This is not a troop event. Each family that attends would be responsible for transportation and supervision of his or her scout.

---------------------------

We have officially gotten our 2023 Scouts Night approved and ready to roll for this season!

May 6th vs NYCFC, Saturday at 7:30 pm

Prices start at $60 per person

This season we are going to be offering an incredible CLTFC Patch for all of our scouts and all group buyers that purchase either through the specialized link or through me. https://charlottefc.spinzo.com/charlotte-fc-vs-nycfc-2023-05-06-YESVG?group=scouts-night-whpw&affiliate=carter-sabinsky-n9rw

If the scouts/families would all like to buy in one section together I would recommend them going through me to guarantee that. You would do that by having you or a point person within the group to collect the money and make the payment so I can place the tickets on their account.

We think it would be a great opportunity for the kids to learn about the game, have some fun, make some memories, then go to see the 1st team play in lower bowl seating!

On top of the patch and discounted tickets, we will also be doing a Scouts Clinic/Activity in the Atrium Dome directly behind the stadium.

The first 100 scouts will be allowed to be a part of this mini soccer clinic before gates open. It will be something fun to do for the scouts and give them the opportunity to work with our Community Coaches and rotate soccer stations within this space.

My goal is to get actual troops and packs out together to guarantee that they can enjoy this event within the same sections.

Let me know what your initial thoughts are, and we can look at reconnecting and making sure we get you all set up. Feel free to give me an email back or text/call back at (704) 593-4157. I would be happy to answer any questions you had!

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Best,
