Matthews Troop 46 - Skip Trip Update

Thank you for signing up for the Ski Trip to ASM. This will be an exciting adventure for your scout. Due to some personal reasons, I am going to stay home. Brian Thomas will be your trip leader for this weekend. Brian is a seasoned veteran at ASM so I know the trip will go exceptionally well under his leadership. Please read below. Did I mention that it will be cold at the destination. Please dress appropriately and thank you for being a part of Matthews Troop 46.

Event Timing: Jan 18-19, 2025
Event Location: Appalachian Ski Mtn
Departure: We will depart Matthews Presbyterian Church at 7:00 am on Sat Jan 18, 2025. ** Please arrive by 6:30 am. **
- Check in: 9:30am
- Ski All Day. Please dress appropriately.
- All unpaid amounts have been paid by me today. I will have the troop invoice those that did not complete their payments online.
- Scouts that already have an RFID card from a previous trip should bring it. One swipe and they are off to get gear.
- Scouts that don't have their RFID card or first-time visitors will need to see Brian. He will take you to the customer service window to get a new or replacement RFID card.
- If you rented clothing, pick that up in the store before you head downstairs. Be fully dressed before you get rental gear.
- Locker Room: There is a large communal locker room. It is great for adding and removing outer layers. There are his and her restrooms. The adults typically rent a large locker. But, the scouts should minimize extra gear.
- Lessons: In the rental area on the wall facing the slopes, there is a check in desk. Scouts should check in for their lessons and get any necessary information on where are how to report.
- Lunch is available on the main level at restaurant. The right-side line has stadium food, most entrees under $10.The left-side line has pulled pork and brisket, most entrees under $20.
- In the late afternoon, the group will depart to the Comfort Suites. Bring your swimsuit. There is a heated indoor pool. Dinner will be provided by the Troop.
- A hot breakfast is included. Scouts should travel in Class A uniform and arrive at breakfast in their Class A uniform.
- Arrival back at church Sunday around 12:30pm.
